We carry out research and development projects in partnership with industry and funding agencies in various segments such as Automotive, IoT, Embedded Systems, Energy, High Performance Computing, Electronics, Urban Mobility, Connectivity and Artificial Intelligence. LIVE conducts cutting-edge research in which it integrates undergraduate, master's and doctoral researchers in relevant state of the art topics in the context of smart cities. Results of dissertations and theses, in general, are the result of innovation work focused on the industry.

The laboratory infrastructure has an area of 180m2 and capacity for 30 researchers to develop innovation projects. LIVE receives 1Gbps link, 750Mbps AC 5GHz Wi-Fi, 1 physical and 4 SVN virtual server dedicated to each project, and 25 machines operating in the lab projects. In addition it has two electronic benches complete with measuring equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, various sources, 3D printer, among others. The lab also has several prototyping boards for use in projects such as: LORA, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, SigFox, ESP32, as well as development platforms for automotive projects such as Vector, Canoe, Matlab, among others, as well as hundreds of various shields and sensors that are applied to projects in the context of smart cities.
